A hundred children between the ages of 7 and 17 at Weston-super-Mare have just completed a year's work on building the first ever nondenominational child run, child built and child supported church. From materials for under a ?0 building licence a year ago and gifts of organ, alter cloth, pulpit, pews and hymn books, the children, with grown-up help with the plans and carpentry, have made their very own place of worship. Picture shows left to right: Grace Evered, Irene Coles and Sylvia Davies, who all helped in the building of the church, have a final polish up before the opening ceremony. 30 September 1947
