Within 50 minutes of receiving a wing section and the fuselage of two new Kirby cadet training gliders members of the Bristol Gliding Club had them assembled and winch launched on their first test flights. Flying by Mr T R Young, chairman of the club, the gliders had been bought with the aid of a grant from the Kemsley Trust, a fund established to encourage private flying.
