At a ceremony held at Waterloo station, London, three new engines were named to commemorate the Battle of Britain, of which the seventh anniversary celebrations are being held in many parts of the country this week. The three new railway engines were named "Lord Braverbrook", "Hurricane" and "Spitfire" by Lord Braverbrook, Sir Frank S. Spriggs - managing director of the Hawker-Siddeley Aircraft Co., And Sir Hew R. Kilner - managing director of the aircraft section of Vickers- Armstrong Ltd., respectively. Picture shows Lord Braverbrook at the helm. After naming the new Southern Railway engine "Lord Braverbrook", the former Minister of aircraft production took a hand at the controls at Waterloo station this morning. 15 September 1947
