Mr John W Snyder, US Secretary of the Treasury, arrived in the 'Queen Elizabeth' at Southampton today to attend the annual meeting of the International Bank and Monetary Fund, which begins in London on Thursday. He was accompanied by Mr Douglas C Abbott, Canadian Finance Minister. They are both expected to participate in discussions with the Cabinet on the dollar situation. At Southampton, to welcome and today was Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt Hon Hugh Dalton. Other rivals at Southampton included Mr McCloy, President of the International Bank, and 143 diplomats and banking officials from the United States, South American Republics and other countries.
