Padre of Bigamy charge. A long statement on fears that he was going insane or was already mad after his experiences during the bombing of Malta, and that a WAAF 'as pure and good as an angel'came into his life, alleged to have been made by the Rev Charles Henry Cunningham Lamb, 36, ex RAF chaplain from the Isle of Man, was read when he appeared at Guildhall Salisbury, today before a special court charged with bigamy. Lamb former Chaplain of St John's Church, Isle of Man, but who had his licence revoked by the Bishop of Soder and was committed for trial at Wiltshire Assizes in October next. He was granted bail for ?0 and a surety of ?0. He pleaded not guilty and reserved his defence. The charge was that he bigamously married Joanne Ellen Boddie, then a WAAF Corporal at Dinton, in 1947.
