The father of Sgt. Mervyn Paice, one of the two hostages being held and Palestine by the Irgun Zvai Leumi for the hanging of three Jewish terrorists today, has made a plea to to save his son's life. The three Jewish terrorists were sentenced to death for an attack on Acre Gaol on May fourth, and on July 11th, sergeants Paice and Clifford Martin were kidnapped at Nathanya as hostages for the three Jews. In spite of this the three Jews were hanged at dawn and the Irgun Zvai Leumi has threatened to execute the two sergeants as a reprisal. Photo shows a recent portrait of Sgt Mervyn Paice. 29 July 1947
