The National Town Crier's Championship Contest was held at Nicholas Meadow, Bodmin, Cornwall for the "News of the World" Challenge Cup. Picture shows: The first four prizewinners seen at Bodmin. In front with the cup is F. Welch - first prize winner for the second time. Next is J.S.L. Morris who was previous champion. In a recent broadcast to America he stated that he had no white stockings to wear and was deluged with offers. Behind him is B.T.Hohnson -1939 champion took third place. H. Thistleton, of Warwick, who took fourth prize is seen in the rear. 17 July 1947
