A Westland Sikorsky S.51 helicopter took the place of the usual home -to-office train this morning for Mr G.S. Lindgren, Parliamentary Sec to the Ministry of civil aviation. From a field near his home in Welwyn Garden City, piloted by Mr J.L. Bristol touched down at Regents Park for an experiment sponsored by the government which is buying three of the machines for general use, may well be the fare-runner of an accepted method of transport from suburban homes to London offices. Picture shows: the helicopter comes slowly down into the small landing area marked off for it in Regents Park. 27 June 1947
