Among those who received Honourary Degree of Doctors at Cambridge University where two people of foreign birth, but who have rendered their services to this country. One of them was his Excellency Domingos de Sousa Holstein Beck, Duke of Palmello the Portuguese ambassador to this country, we received the degree of Dr of Law. The other was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Beryaev, a philosopher twice exiled from Russia, who received the honorary degree of Dr of Divinity.
