Wembley stadium was packed with more than 90,000 spectators many of whom had travelled to London from the north, for the FA Cup final, biggest even in British football, between Charlton and Burnley. Before the game the players are presented to HRH The Duke of Gloucester, cup medals for both teams were presented by HRH The Dutchess of Gloucester.
