Examining Nelson's Column for possible blast damage.Today, Tuesday, Mr larkin, the steeplejack, climbed Nelson's 200ft Column in Trafalgar Square, London, to collect evidence for a report to the Ministry of Works on possible bomb damage received in 1940. Six men will form the gang on the job which will take till 4 o'clock. the monument has not been examined since 1919 when Mr Larkin's father climbed up to put on the Victory decorations and did did repairs and cleaning.
