Mr Hudson Irving, 33 year old Halifax forward was killed while playing for his side in a Rugby League match against Dewsbury yesterday. About six thousand people were watching the match when they saw Irving lying on his face after a scramble for the ball. After shouts from the crowd play was stopped and her was carried unconcious, to the touch line, where doctors worked to revive him. He died in the dressing room a few minutes later. 13 April 1947
