Viscount Mountbatten of Burma, who was yesterday, announces the new Viceroy of India, in succession to Lord Wavell, this morning received a cheque for ?0,000 on behalf of the Airborne Forces Security Fund, subscribed by British cinemagoers. The presentation was made by film magnate J Arthur Rank at 4 Whitehall Place, London.
