Mills knocks out Bertola. Freddie Mills, British cruiserweight champion, one the greatest fight of his career at the Albert Hall, London, tonight (Monday) . When he knocked out the Italian cruiserweight champion Enrico Bertola in five rounds. Mills, much slower than of old, had a tough time against the fast talking, Italian, who, in the fourth round, chased Mills to the ropes and pounded him at will with less and right to the head and body. Only the British boxers immense strength and ability to take punishment enabled him to come out in the fifth round to chop Bertola with a succession of less rights finally to put him out for the count with a short left to the chin. Photo shows, Bertola forces Mills into a corner, looking and jabbing punches, during the fight. 17 February 1947
