Punching in the clinches. A boxer versus wrestler contest was fought today (Friday) between Bert Assirati, heavyweight wrestling champion of Great Britain, and Arnold, and ex cruiserweight who, before the war, boxed as Jack Croly of Millwall. The fight was a result of the acceptance by Arnold of Assirati's offer to pay ?00 to any boxer who can stay three minutes in the ring with them. Both contestants were bound by the rules governing their respective sports as a condition of the bout. Arnold, who claims to be the world's best developed physical specimen, is now a physical culture expert. Photo shows Assirati and Arnold square up for the fray, over in one a half minutes, a victory for the wrestler. 14 November 1947
