Transport strike Ends. The London transport strike, in which nearly 50,000 lorry drivers, deckers, stevedores, lighterman and market porters are involved, was brought virtually to a close at the resumed meeting of 700 strikers' delegates with Mr Arthur Deakin, General Secretary of the Transport and General Workers Union, at the Memorial Hall, Farringdon Street, London, today (Thursday), the main, it is understood, will return to work on Saturday.
