French honour for British heroine. Miss Marguerite Smith, of Eastfield Road, Walton cross, a member of Fany during the war , who volunteered for the Special Air Service and was parachuted into France in May, 1944, to carry out sabotage on French railways and who sabotaged French railways and carried information from behind the German lines to advancing Allied troops, attended an investiture at the French Institute in London, this evening, Wednesday, on behalf of his Government, M Rene Massigli, the French Ambassador, invested Mrs Smith as a member of the L'Ordre Du Corps D'Armee Etoile de Vermeil.
