Dakota death roll now at 6. The death roll of the BOAC, Dakota, which crashed into a Kentish hillside in dense fog yesterday (Saturday) was raised to 6 this morning when the aircraft radio officer, Mr R. D. Sandford, died from his injuries. There was 16, people on the aircraft, eleven passengers and five crew. The Dakota had taken off from London Airport at 9:30 AM for Bordeaux, on his way to Lagos, West Africa. After being unable, through fog, to find a Leningrad in France, the pilot headed back to Britain, and shortly after 4 PM crashed into a hillside at Stowting, near Ashford, Kent. One of the injured passengers was Mr T L Horabin, Ind. Liberal MP for North Cornwall.
