The rising reputation of French racehorses received a further fillip when at Newmarket's the Cesarewitch Stakes was won in brilliant fashion by M. L'Amiral with Harry Wragg in the saddle. Only three quarters of the length behind was the ex-Irish horse Ford Transport (T.Weston up) which beat Geoffrey's Lady into second place by half a length. The winning horse which is owned by Mr H. Barnard Hankey went to the starting post at 33-1.
