Nine of fifteen entrants for the King George VI Stakes, to be run for the first time at Ascot are horses trained in France. The event, which has been described as "The Race of the Century" will be contested by the cream of the British and French turf, including: 'Airborne' - Derby and St Leger winner, 'Souverain' - winner of the French St Leger and Grand Prix De Paris, 'Bright News' - winner of the Irish Derby and Championship Plate, 'Bouton Rose' - Belgian Grand Prix winner, 'Look Ahead' - winner of the Ascot Gold Vase and the St Leger and from the same stable.
