Hawker 'Fury' for Folkestone and Aero Trophy Race. Walker's latest fighter, the Fury will make his debut at the race for the Folkestone Aero Trophy next weekend. It will be piloted by chief test pilot, Mr William Humble, MB. The Fury, which is the successor to the Hurricane, Typhoon and Tempest, embodies all the experience gained during the war by these three world-famous aircraft. A maximum speed of 450 mph at 20,000 feet, 5000 ft./m rate of climb, and they still air range of 2000 miles of features of the aircraft. Like its forerunners, the Fury is a versatile weapon of war. It is designed to carry to 1000 pound bombs, or 12 rocket projectiles, or a combination of bombs, rockets and auxiliary petrol tanks.
