Viscount's son weds nurse. Many well-wishers were at Mansfield church today (Wednesday) for the wedding of Warrant Ofc the Hon . John Stewart Terrick Dudley Ryder, younger son of Viscount and Viscountess Sandon, to Miss Dorothy Ethel's Swallow, 22, of Dallas St, Mansfield, Notts. The bride was nursing at Grimsby hospital last year and met Mr Ryder, when he was a patient recovering from an air crash. The daughter of a builder's labourer, she was unaware when he proposed that he was the son of a Viscount. An heirloom veil first worn by the Marchioness of Bute in 1790, and which Viscountess Sandon wore at her own wedding, was worn by the bride today. The Viscount and Viscountess were present at the ceremony, the daughter, the Hon Frances Ryder, was a bridesmaid. The bride's mother made the dresses for the bride and her attendants, and also the three tiered wedding cake.
