Their Majesties in Cheshire. The King and Queen today made a 30 mile drive through some of the most thickly populated areas of Cheshire. Alighting from the Royal Train at Stalybridge, where the station was decorated with a profusion of flowers. Their Majesties drove through streets lined with cheering crowds to Dukinfield, Hyde, Bredbury, Hazel Grove, Wilmslow, Hale and Altrincham, where, at the Churchill Tool Co's factory, a number of prominent local people were presented to them. After lunch, their Majesties continued their tour to Chester. Picture shows, the man who made the King and Queen laugh. Mr Granville Barlow, 82 years old, who has worked for the Churchill Tool Company at Altrincham for 63 years, tells their Majesties that he has never had a holiday, ''but has a day or two off now and then''. 17 July 1946
