'Glamour Snaps' leads to Altar. A photograph in a 'Glamour' snapshot contest published beside another of the bridegroom's, sister led to the wedding of Mr John Boakes of Homerton, to Miss Jean Card of Watford. Jeans picture was seen beside that of John's sister when the page was sent to him while on service in Rhodesia. He wrote to her, beginning a correspondence that was to last until he came home two years later, when their first meeting took place. Their engagement follows and today the romance by correspondence culminated in the marriage at Watford. Picture shows, the bride and bridegroom after their wedding. 15 July 1946
