Red Cross at St John library Department 'At Home'. At a Red Cross and St John Hospital Library Department 'At Home' today (Thursday), the chairman of the Department, Mr Arthur Bryant, MA, F R, Hist, S, the historian, spoke of the organisation by which 84. Hospitals in the London area had been equipped with libraries containing works of fiction, travel, biography and technical subjects. The libraries are developing as a peacetime service throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and staff chiefly by voluntary librarians. Mr Bryant , stressed the importance the patient of the library, pointing out that alleviation from boredom and occupation of the mind is an important contribution to recovery. The Countess of Limerick, Deputy Chairman of the Joint War Organisation of the Red Cross and St John, was in the chair, this afternoon.
