Dramatic fire scenes were shot at Frensham Ponds, Surrey for the game's first film "The Root of all Evil". The shops depicted the firing of oil wells and factory buildings and the cameras returned crowd scenes and "rescues" from the burning buildings, as the local fireplace and ambulancemen took part in the filming. Miss Phyllis Calvert who stars in the film signing autographs for film fans among the great crowd of onlookers. 23 May 1946
