New Arch Bishop of Wales. The Bishop of Wales. The Bishop of Monmouth, Dr Alfred Edwin Morris (pictured here) has been elected Archbishop of Wales. Dr Morris, who is 63, has been Bishop of Monmouth since 1945. His previous appointments have included being Examining Chaplain to the Bishops of Landaff and Bangor and Lloyd Williams Fellow of St David's College, Lampeter. Dr Morris is married and has four sons and one daughter. 5 November 1957
