HMS "Vanguard", the world's biggest battleship revealed some of the secrets today as she lay a mile from the world's largest liner, the SS "Queen Elizabeth", off Greenock, Scotland. Secrets of the German battleship "Bismarck", given by prisoners taken at her sinking, have been used in the "Vanguard" construction. Her radar will pick up vessels 100 miles away and aircraft at a distance of 140 miles. Picture shows a view of Vanguard taken from the bows showing the mighty forward guns, compass platform and bridge. 8 May 1946
