The Rugby League Cup final between the Lancashire team, Wigan and the Yorkshire team Wakefield Trinity, took place at Wembley Stadium, London. Thousands of enthusiasts from the North invaded London by special train and motor buses to swell the great crowd that sorts the Prime Minister, Mr Clement Attlee, present the cup to the winning team, Wakefield Trinity who beat Wigan by 13 points to 12 points.
