Over 1000 of the country's finest racing pigeons were on view today at the victory show of pigeons held at the Royal Horticultural Hall, Vincent Square, London, today. Amongst them was Royal Blue, owned by His Majesty the King, the first pigeon to bring a message from a forced landing aircraft on the continent. In 1940 the bird was released in Holland and arrived at Sandringham the same day with information regarding the situation of the crew. White Vision was also there, this pigeon saved the lives of a crew of 11 from a flying boats, which forced landed In Northern Waters by bringing back information of their location. Both these birds were awarded the Dickin Medal (the pigeons Victoria cross). Photo shows, (left) , Royal Blue and (right) White Vision on view at the show today. 29 November 1945
