The Mark I "Alcrete" House, constrcuted by the Bristol Aeroplane Company Ltd, is probably the first factory produced building which does not look like a "pre-fab". Designed to present the appearance of a normal semi-detached residence, built on site, erection is reduced to a minimum and can be carried out by unskilled labour under supervision of a trained foreman.
