Members of the city of London to newlyformed police cadet corps aged 16-17 had their first taste of police work when their course opened at Bishopsgate, city today. It has been formed to encourage the greeting the city of London force which polices the "square mile" of the city. The recruits will be getting from 50 shillings to 4 pounds per week after three years service. It is hoped they will make the police force their career after they've completed their period of national service. 2 April 1951
