First Section Of New London To Yorkshire Motorway Ready For Traffic. It is a two-level junction with slip roads leading to the roundabout formed on existing road. The new motorway passes under and at an angle to the existing road which is raised on approaches to the roundabout. On Monday, November 2 the first section of the motorway linking London and Birmingham from the north end of the new St. Albans bypass near Luton, to connections with the Birmingham and Holyhead roads at Dunchurch and Crick near Rugby will be formally opened to traffic.
