'Gatwick' Air Pageant'. The curtain went up on the Daily Express Air Pageant today, at Gatwick, with many types of British aircraft taking part in this spectacular display. Photo shows: Mr. Robert E. Fulton, Jr., fixes the propellor on the Fulton Airphibian prior to it taking off. It can be converted from a roadworthy car to a plane - all within seven minutes. The machine does 25 mpg and has a maximum flying speed of 122 mph. The Airphibian was demonstrated at the Gatwick Air Pageant today. Sussex, England. 10 July 1948.
