One For The Pot. Hippies, hoydens and hangers-on gathered in London's Hyde Park today in a kind of "flower power" demonstration or loving protest generally aimed at getting the smoking of "pot" (marijuana) legalised. Some, like the figure seen here, got the woad on the show by painting themselves in a manner likely to cause raised eyebrows among casual Sunday strollers. Others pelted icy-calm police with flowers, yelling "we love you, we love you." Passing tourists were puzzled to find themselves being photographed by the hippies, who took a great interest in the "Straight People" as hippies call anyone who looks and behaves normally. London, England. 16 July 1967.
