UPI photographer Hiromichi Mine made this remarkable picture a few seconds after a US twin-engine transport plane had been hit by American artillery, as the craft plummeted to Earth at Haphan, 45 miles north of Duc Pho. Laden with ammunition, the plane was about to land at a Green Beret Specialy Forces camp. The three Americans aboard the craft were killed in the tragic mishap. Haphan, Vietnam. 12 September 1967.
