Medway Bridge For New Kent Motor Road. Work is proceeding on the Medway Bridge for the new Kent motor road, the Medway Towns' Motorway, for which tenders (for the road itself) are about to be issued. The bridge, with a 500ft centre span, should be completed in about two and a half years, is 100ft above the water. This bridge for the M.2., as the road will be called, is providing work for some 250 men. At the moment Cofferdams are being sunk, which, when complete. will be filled with concrete to act as the bases of two river piers to carry the centre spans. Kent, England. 06 February 1961.
