Mattern arrives at Floyd Bennett Airport. After 8 week air journey around the world, Jimmy Mattern arrived at Floyd Bennett Field, New York City, 30 July, after flying from Toronto, Canada in a borrowed plane. Through his Siberia crack up, after which he was reported lost for many days, Mattern suffered defeat in an attempt to set a record.
