This is a 17 June view of the Ford team in front of its pits before the start of the 24 hour endurance race at Le Mans. The Ford team ran into trouble when American dentist Dr Dick Thompson was disqualified by the organisers but not reporting an accident in which he is involved during practice . Thompson 's co-driver was Britain's Graham Hill , winner of this year's Indianapolis 500 . Now Hill will race with 29-year-old Australian Brian Muir . 18 June 1966
