Dr Leonard G. Kortenhorst, President of the Second Chamber of the Netherlands Parliament, and President of the "Bells for America" Committee, and Mrs Kortenhorst (left), are greeted by the Dutch executive's niece, Mrs Bob Runyon, as the pair arrives aboard the Holland-America Line's Westerdam. Dr Kortenhorst is en route to Washington DC where he will take part in the formal transfer of 50 Bell Carillon from Holland to America. The Carillon is a token of appreciation from the Dutch people for aid received during and after World War II. 3 May 1954
