Jonny Kemp (centre), 10, of Bismarck, presents Maurice Pate (right), executive director of UNICEF, with a small gold coloured statuette representing a child with outstretched arms on 8 March. It was an award for the help UNICEF gives to children in other parts of the world. Johnny is a 1960 national Easter Seal Child. At left is columnist Hedda Hopper, National Easter Seal chairman. She and Johnny were here in connection with current nationwide Easter Seal campaign. The boy was born quadruple amputee. He walks an artificial legs and uses steel hooks for hands . Despite these handicaps he plays baseball, football, has his own newspaper route, is a Cub Scout and is a better than average student will stop he was chosen national Easter Seal boy because he represents maximum rehabilitation in the face of a major handicap as a result of total community services including those of the Easter Seal Society. 18 March 1960
