Dr Alfred Swaine Taylor was an English toxicologist and medical writer , who has been called the ' father of British forensic medicine ' . The arsenic Dr Taylor found in ' bottle No 21' , during the Dr Smethurst case , almost ruined his reputation , and may have allowed an inept killer in the traditions of (insets from top ) Doctors Pritchard , Ruxton and Cream to escape .
