Representative Coya Knutson, shown at a press conference, charged that her defeat in the elections was brought about by a "malicious conspiracy"which involved her husband. She asked for a House investigation. Mrs Knutson, the only Democrat house members to be defeated by a Republican, came into the limelight earlier this year when her husband, Andrew, declared his opposition to her congressional career and launched a "Coya Come Home" campaign. 28 November 1958
