Docklands bomb defused. Major Geoff Ward of the Army bomb disposal squad, points out the position of a live Second World War bomb which a team of Army experts safely defused in London's Docklands today. The 500lb German bomb, found by water workers in Aspen Way, Tower Hamlets, was later being steamed out in an operation which was likely to take until late afternoon. 14 November 1988
