Josef Horak - falsely accused by the Nazis of the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich on 4 June 1942 Czech airman Flt / Lt Horak died 19 January 1949 in an air crash. When Heydrich was assassinated in 1942 the Nazis murdered 28 members of Horak's family before killing every man in Lidice . Horak held 8 British Czech decorations, returned to his own country after the war but escaped in May 1948 to rejoin his english-born wife at Swindon and re-enlisted in the RAF.
