This is the new football boot designed by former Austrian soccer referee Engelbert K. Harmer of Vienna. The shoe style boot is called 'Tornado', and has no laces but is held fast to the foot by a rubber strap which has rings on both sides of the heel. It is much lighter than conventional football boots and has a rubber padded instep with a special 'kicking pad' just beneath the strap aimed to prevent injuries and improve ball control. 1st March 1958.
