Longchamp was thronged today for the running of the most important race of the year , the Grand Prix de Paris . Nine holders of lucky tickets were made millionaires as on this race depended the result of the sweepstake , organised under supervision of the French government , by an organization for the encouragement of racing . The race went to an outsider , ?Crudite ?, owned by Baron von Rothschild . He paid 24 francs to 10 to win and 110 francs to 10 for place .
