London Airport : Three Belgian women all awarded the George Medal for helping RAF men escape from their country during WWII , flew into London Airport today as the guests of the RAF Escaping Society . The women , who are shown with some of the men they rescued , are front row , left to right , Mme. Micheline Ugeux ; Mlle Andree de Jongh , whose father founded and paid for with his life , the famous and heroic Comete Line , and herself was put into the concentration camp at Ravensbruck and Mauthausen by the Germans in 1943 , and Mme Elvire de Greef , who with her family operated in Bayonne throughout the war . The RAF Escaping ~Society is composed of the ex - crew of the RAF who escaped or evaded . They keep in touch with those who helped them to do so , both in resistance movements and those who operated independently . 5 January , 1967
