Sidney Sippe was involved in an air raid of Friedrichshafen, came second arriving to begin a descent which also led to 210 m altitude, but the attack took place differently. After dropping a bomb intended to disrupt the defenses of the site, he headed for the sheds and factories, and threw two bombs on target, but the last remained stuck. Having made a first time away from the heavy fire directed against him, Sippe attempted a second pass, hoping to let go of his last bomb, but did not succeed. He resolved to escape by flying at very low altitude over the lake. His aircraft was hit by flak, but he could still reach Belfort smoothly.
