Sherlock Holmes in the person of actor Carleton Hobbs, arrives in a hansom cab at The Criterion in Piccadilly where a plaque is to be unveiled to commemorate the first meeting of Dr John Watson and Sherlock Holmes in 1881. They were introduced by Dr Stamford, who knew they were both seeking lodgings. They agreed to share 221B Baker Street and their adventuress began. January 1953
